I purchased from a guy in Texas a set of the original decals to the tractor. I was also able to find the correct colors to repaint the tractor in the spring once the weather warms up a little. Valspar makes a whole line of tractor and implements paint. This is my first attempt at rebuilding a tractor so it's been a lot of research. Here are the decals. Im real pleased with the quality of them.

So I might as well start off my blog with some pictures of the tractor as it sits now. (for the record it is a whooping 7 degrees out in the garage today... yikes) The engine looks a little rough but runs great.

I got a kick out of the "can of spare parts" that came with the tractor.
Last week I went out and bought a used 1969 Jacobsen Cheif 1000. I don't really know much about these tractors other than they were made by Ford. I do have all the original manuals from 1969 and the tractor for the most part appears to be pretty well intact. I love the look of these old tractors. I plan on fixing it up over the next few months and decided to post my progress on this blog. With a little luck I'll be out this spring mowing the lawn in style.
